2019 has been a great year for Russell County, and we look forward to an even better 2020!
This year the RCIDA completed the Build-Ready pad at the Lake Cumberland Regional Industrial Complex site 1. The first Business and Industry Symposium held in May was a big success. Construction progress moved rapidly on the Lake Cumberland Regional College & Workforce Center. Area tourism had another great year, and we saw major investment in infrastructure at our Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. The Russell County Airport secured financial grants to build a new terminal, and the Russell County Public Library opened its beautiful new facility in Jamestown.
We appreciate the visits and advice from representatives of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, LG&E and KU, and the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED). The RCIDA looks forward to continuing our relationships in economic development.
We value the continued partnerships with the cities of Russell Springs and Jamestown, and the Russell County Government who share our mission of helping business and industry to Make It Here. Our local businesses, manufacturing, and tourism industries remain the foundation of the county’s economic stability and we are grateful they have chosen Russell County to be successful. DUO Broadband has been generous to host the RCIDA with office and board room space for many years as well as equip our rural community to become Gigabit connected, and for this, we are very thankful.
This year the RCIDA also rebranded the former French Valley Business Park to the Lake Cumberland Regional Industrial Complex and deployed a new video and website to better showcase all our community has to offer.
We are excited about the possibilities in 2020 and appreciate everyone who supports our efforts for the economic development of our region. On behalf of the Russell County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors and staff, we wish you a Happy New Year!
